Terms of Use

$ cat acceptance.txt
Acceptance of the Code
By accessing and browsing Luxine News, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms of Use. This is a fan-driven platform for collecting news, theories and lore related to the horror titles of Mob Entertainment, Euphoric Brothers and other studios in the genre.
If you disagree with any of these points, the consistent choice is not to use the site. These terms go together with the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer, which form part of the same agreement.

$ cat who.txt
Who May Use Luxine
Luxine is freely accessible: reading requires no account. Taking part (commenting) does require registration.
The site is not aimed at children under 14. We do not verify anyone's age, so this rule relies on your honesty. Bear in mind that the genre we cover is horror and that some content may not be suitable for all ages.

$ cat accounts.txt
User Accounts
Commenting uses an account based on a username and password. Registration does not ask for an email address, and usernames shaped like an email or based on Gmail or Googlemail are not accepted. Your visible identity in the community will always be your @username.
Usernames must be 3 to 24 characters long (letters, numbers, _, . or -) and passwords at least 8 characters.
You may optionally add a recovery email afterwards, used solely to regain access if you forget your password. Luxine does not display emails in public areas. If you choose not to add one, accept that a forgotten password may mean losing the account, since we will have no way to confirm it is yours.
You can keep up to 5 accounts signed in in the same browser and switch between them. That feature exists for the convenience of people with more than one legitimate account, not to evade a sanction or to pose as several people in the same conversation.

$ cat account-security.txt
Your Responsibility for the Account
Your password is your responsibility. Sessions last exactly one hour and then expire; changing your password automatically closes every other open session on that account.
You agree not to share your account or credentials, and to tell us at contactoluxine@gmail.com if you suspect someone has accessed it. You are answerable for what is posted from your account while it is under your control.
Luxine will never ask for your password by email or send it to you that way. Any message that does is an attempt to deceive you.

$ cat mentions.txt
Replies and Mentions
Replies can be nested as a tree to keep conversations tidy. When you reply, the system may automatically add the public @username mention of the account being replied to, so the conversation keeps its context.

$ cat ratings.txt
Article Ratings
Every article can be rated with a like or a dislike without an account. The vote is meant as an honest signal from the community: inflating it with automated votes, by repeatedly clearing your browser storage to vote several times, or through any other mechanism that distorts the tally, is not allowed. Luxine may discard votes it considers fraudulent.

$ cat notes.txt
Downloading the Notes
The notes section allows you to download a compressed archive with the collected images. That material belongs to its respective owners and is offered solely for personal consultation, archiving and study of the lore. Reselling it, redistributing it as your own work or presenting it as official material from any studio is not allowed.

$ cat prohibited.txt
Prohibited Uses
Beyond the comments, by using Luxine you agree not to:
- Attempt to access other people's accounts, the administration panel or any restricted area.
- Probe, scan or test the site's security without express permission.
- Bypass or try to bypass the rate limits, or automate access with bots or mass scrapers.
- Impersonate another user, the administration or any of the studios we cover.
- Use the site to distribute malware, phishing or unlawful material.
- Copy the site's content en masse in order to republish it as your own.
If you find a security flaw, we are grateful: write to contactoluxine@gmail.com rather than exploiting or publicising it.

$ cat suspension.txt
Suspension and Account Closure
We may hide comments, suspend an account or close it when these terms are breached, in proportion to the case. Minor breaches mean the content is removed; suspension is reserved for repeated or serious abuse.
If you believe a measure taken against your account is a mistake, you can write to contactoluxine@gmail.com explaining the case and we will review it.
You may also ask at any time for your account to be deleted. Doing so erases your sign-in data; comments that are already part of public conversations may be kept in anonymised form where removing them would break other people's threads.

$ cat languages.txt
Languages and Translations
Luxine is published in four languages:
- Spanish — the original and reference version.
- English
- Portuguese
- Italian
You should know how those translations are produced, because they are not all treated alike. Blog articles are machine-translated (Google Translate), so they may contain odd phrasing, poorly chosen terms or sentences that do not read naturally in your language. They are not translations reviewed one by one.
Also, not all content is available in every language: some articles exist in only a few of them, and the site may show you the Spanish version when there is no translation of what you are looking for.
That is why the Spanish version is the reference one: if a translation contains an error or an inaccuracy, or lags behind the original, what the Spanish text says always prevails. This applies both to articles and to these legal documents.
If you see a translation that is misleading, or a mistake worth correcting, tell us through the footer channels or at contactoluxine@gmail.com and we will fix it by hand.

$ cat availability.txt
Service Availability
Luxine is a fan project run on a non-profit basis. The service is offered "as is", with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability: there may be outages, maintenance or data loss arising from infrastructure failures. We recommend not trusting the site with any content you do not keep a copy of.
We may modify, suspend or withdraw any feature of the site, including the site as a whole, without this giving rise to any right to compensation.

$ cat ip.txt
Third-Party Intellectual Property
All official content from Poppy Playtime, Project: Playtime and Garten of Banban (including names, characters, trademarks and in-game images) legally belongs to its respective creators (Mob Entertainment and Euphoric Brothers). Its use on this site is made under the doctrine of fair use for informational, analytical and non-profit entertainment purposes.
Luxine's original text, design and code are the work of the site's team. You may quote our articles by citing the source and linking to the original; reproducing them in full without permission, no.
— fin del archivo —
$ cat user-content.txt
User Content
Any theory or comment submitted through our site remains the intellectual property of its author. However, by submitting it, you grant Luxine a non-exclusive, royalty-free and revocable licence to display it publicly in the corresponding comments section, including its translation or its quotation within an article where appropriate.
By posting something you warrant that it is yours or that you have the right to share it. Opinions in the comments belong to whoever signs them and do not represent Luxine's position.

$ cat moderation.txt
Security and Moderation
Sensitive actions, such as deleting other people's comments, are validated server-side through an administrator session. Flags sent from the browser are not accepted as a way to grant moderation privileges. To contain automated abuse, sign-in, registration, comments and ratings all apply a request limit per IP address.
The team is organised in three levels: user, moderator — who can hide comments instantly, but needs an administrator's approval to delete them for good — and administrator. Access to the panel requires multi-step verification, with a code emailed to the person in charge.

$ cat liability.txt
Limitation of Liability
Luxine is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site, for data loss, or for decisions taken on the basis of information published here — in particular leaks, rumours and theories, which by their nature may be false.
Nor are we liable for the content of external sites linked or embedded here, or for what other users post.

$ cat changes.txt
Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated as the site gains new features. The date shown under the title indicates the latest revision, and significant changes are announced on the front page. Continuing to use Luxine after an update means accepting the version in force.
If any provision of these terms were unenforceable, the rest would remain in force. For any question about this document, write to contactoluxine@gmail.com.

Conduct in the Comments
By taking part on the Luxine News site, you agree not to post abusive content, spam, offensive messages, other people's personal data or fraudulent links. Luxine reserves the right to remove any comment that breaches these basic guidelines for living together.
Specifically, there is no place here for: insults and harassment of other users or of developers, sexual content, hatred based on origin, sex, identity, orientation or beliefs, threats, posting anyone's private data, spam and covert self-promotion.
Luxine is a news portal. Any inappropriate comment will be removed without prior notice to keep the community healthy for all fans.
