Poppy Playtime Chapter 1's anniversary is near: the day Mob tends to make a move

Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 launched on October 12, and Mob tends to celebrate around that date —usually on the 13th. Last year it was the Poppy Playtime 5 poster. Here is why it is worth watching these days.

The anniversary of Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 is just around the corner. And if Mob Entertainment’s history has shown anything, it is that these dates rarely go by in silence.

Update: how Mob celebrated

The anniversary has now passed, and first of all, to avoid any confusion: there was no Chapter 6 release. Mob celebrated with a party illustration.

The interesting part is at the top: in the garland of medallions, next to familiar faces like Poppy and Mommy Long Legs, there is a new character we had not seen before. Mob has not said who it is, so for now all we can do is look closely and wait for the studio to introduce it.

A date with a track record

The first chapter of Poppy Playtime launched on October 12, 2021 on Steam, so that day is the series’ official birthday. Curiously, Mob’s celebration tends to land on the 13th —perhaps due to the time-zone gap with the original launch or simply because the studio posts its anniversary art a day later. Either way, something almost always happens around these dates: a word from the studio, a wink on social media, a teaser, or an outright announcement.

It is not an official promise from Mob, but it is a pattern fans already know and watch for. That is why, when the second week of October arrives, the community goes on alert.

What happened last year

The previous anniversary left a moment people remember well. On October 13, 2025, a day after the anniversary, Mob Entertainment posted the official poster for “Poppy Playtime 5” on X along with a brief “Happy anniversary, Playtime!”. A single glimpse of that doll was enough to fuel the conversation for days, with the community analyzing every detail for clues.

Keep that date nuance in mind: the anniversary is the 12th, but Mob’s move landed on the 13th. Sometimes the studio celebrates right on the day, and other times it stretches to the next. So rather than fixating on an exact hour, the sensible thing is to stay alert across these days.

That precedent is exactly what drives this year’s anticipation: if a marked date already served to show a future chapter’s poster, it is fair to wonder what it holds this time.

What could happen these days

It is wise to stay cautious and not take anything for granted. As of today there is no confirmed announcement for the 2026 anniversary. What there is, is a history that invites keeping an eye out, especially on the 12th and 13th.

Among the possibilities the community is weighing —all unconfirmed— would be:

  • A new teaser or screenshot of a chapter in development.
  • Some news related to Escape from Playtime or other Mob projects.
  • A thank-you message from the studio for the anniversary, with or without a surprise.
  • Or, perfectly possible, nothing: a quiet anniversary is also on the table.

How we will follow it

At Luxine we will be watching Mob Entertainment’s official channels. If any move shows up over these days —however small— we will cover it here without hyping it: reporting what is actually shown and keeping it separate from mere rumors or interpretations.

For now, the only sure things are the dates. October 12 is the launch anniversary and the 13th tends to be Mob’s celebration day: time to pay attention.
